Cold, rainy 8mi run
Just a quick entry as I am gross and need to shower. I didn't get to run at all during the week, due to work, so my first run since last week was today's 8 mile training run along the Charles. It wasn't as cold as last week, but it was raining, which makes everything colder in the end. It was tough in spots, and I had to stop a few times, but I did the whole thing so I'm proud of that. I'll definitely have to do more runs/cross training during the week, since next Saturday is a 10 mile run!!

Updates!
Sean and I went for a run this morning. We both have something to train for now... he's doing the Tough Mudder race in VT in May. It's a 10-12 insane obstacle course race designed by British Special Forces.... they run through mud and fire and all this crazy stuff. He's nuts. I'll stick with the Boston Marathon thankyouverymuch.
Anyway, we ran. It was ok... I think my issue so far is being inconsistent. The first few runs are always miserable.... I mean we only ran 2.5 miles and I had to stop a few times. I'm getting over a chest cold so that wasn't helping either. I tried to be positive though. It's very hard to not hear "what was I thinking" when I'm struggling, but I keep thinking of my goal and how I've trained for marathons before, I can do it again. I want to be ready for Boston better than I've ever been for any other race. It's probably the hardest, scariest marathon I've ever done. The first one was pretty scary, but it was at Disney so who can be scared of that??
The kickoff party for the Miles for Miracles team is Saturday, December 4th. I originally had to work but thankfully Helen is switching with me so I can go :) It was important to me that I go, so that I can really feel a part of a team again.
I also got the name of my patient partner in the mail this week! If you want, Children's pairs you up with a patient/family that is going through care at the hospital. The families volunteer, and you can link up and get to know each other, and have a personal connection to your fundraising efforts. I sent an email a few days ago, so I'm hoping they write back soon.
Ok that's it for now! Going to see the new Twilight movie with my friends (shhhh!)

Soooo I have a race in 4 days.....
I realized on the way to work on Monday that the Tufts 10K for Women is usually in October, and I didn't remember hearing anything about it. When I got to work I checked online, and it was a week away! I haven't really been running, but it's such a great race and I love doing it, so I signed up. 6.2 miles no problem! So my plan is to run a few times between now and Monday the 10th, and see what happens on race day!

It starts....
Well - today is the first day of my countdown to running the 2012 Boston Marathon for Children's Hospital!!
I got the call today saying that I was accepted onto the team, and couldn't wait to get started :) The team isn't finalized yet, and training won't start for months, but I'M EXCITED!!!! It's pretty late and I have to get up early tomorrow for work, but I just wanted to get the ball rolling on my master plan.
I figure it will be a nice touch to write about my training and fundraising journey... it WILL be the hardest marathon I've ever done, and may be my last... but I'm looking forward to it all the same... so if you want to read more of my crazy ramblings, stay tuned!!
